What does it test for ?
No matter your age, bone metabolism is constantly changing owing to constant changes within bone tissue.
Growth, menopause, back pain, sports injuries – there are a number of reasons why this test may be appropriate. This specific clinical analysis enables us to monitor bone metabolism – by measuring hormonal and micro-nutritional (vitamins and minerals) markers, highlighting an excess or deficiency in bone remodelling. The parameters measured are:
- phosphorus and bone alkaline phosphatase, involved in bone metabolism,
- osteocalcin: A bone formation marker,
- Crosslaps: bone resorption markers.
Who is it intended for ?
- Post-menopausal women
- Men aged over 50
- Anyone experiencing chronic pain (e.g. back pain)
